New Inspired PB Headboard

I've been a busy bee. Work continues to take over my life. So much so, that I've even hired a cleaning lady. She will do the regular dusting, vaccuming, moping and thank God LAUNDRY!!! =D

Anyways; remember my Ikea headboard? It's cute but now I'm bored w/ it. So, I thought I would try this... Reveal coming tomorrow. See how I continue to get inspired by you!

I will get this posted as soon as I have a min. so that you see how beautiful it looks.

Stay tuned!

Thank you for visiting!!

Show me some love and follow me, I'd love to have you along for the journey =)

New White Dreamy Ikea Bed

Look what I got!
I picked this up on my first IKEA trip of the summer which really took place this Spring.

Vanvik Queen Bed $400
It is just as beautiful as it appears. It's so crisp and clean... Yummy! and I only paid $150 for it. YAY for me =D

My IKEA plan of attack always begins in the clearance section. Cause really what's the point of walking thru the whole store when what I'm looking for might be right there? So, I went in. Saw it. Claimed it. It's mine.

Clearance $150

Now, putting it together was an entirely different story. That was quite the challenge. The thin metal sticks that are suppose to keep the bed square are just jank. Really!

Those? how can they hold an adult body!

So, I built it, prayed and went to bed. The next morning I was at Loews getting some wood planks to use. Thank god they cut them for us cause really how would I have managed w/ out a cutter? So, it's all good and pretty now PLUS I found two of  the HENRIKSDAL chairs originally at $89 for $25 each. I couldn't believe my luck that day! that was $64 savings on each chair =D

HENRIKSDAL Chair, brown-black, Blekinge white Width: 21 1/4 " Depth: 22 7/8 " Height: 38 1/4 " Seat width: 21 1/4 " Seat depth: 16 1/2 " Seat height: 18 1/2 " Width: 54 cm Depth: 58 cm Height: 97 cm Seat width: 54 cm Seat depth: 42 cm Seat height: 47 cm
HENRIKSDAL $89

This chair rests neatly in a corner in my room. I gotta be honest; it holds my briefcase and junk like that so, I should probably be more diligent on the tidiness of my room. Blah blah blah...

Tan and white Master

Check it out!

I love how it's turned out... It's so serene and soothing!

This weeks finds and more

Here's the fabush garage sale lamp... oh so, chic.

Here's what she looks like bedside. See more bedroom updates here.

Target on Thursday. Look at all those great baskets. I'm def. going to have to set some monies aside for a storage one.

This one was my favorite. I didn't bother looking at the price because she will be mine soon. =)

I grabbed this on for $10 in the clearance section, which is the first place I go. Hmmm, and I think I will use her as a tray on my bed. That to come later.

Saturday flee market. These guys have been in the same lot for yrs. and when I want a slice of "made in chine" this is where I go. Reminds me of all the goods on the NYC side walks.

Good stuff, I'm just a bit reluctant since I don't think they are organic. But to support local vendors, I will pick up a few things...

Oh my! these are the days when my negociating skills come to good use. Once I sweet talked the vendor, I walked out of there w/ two HUGE pots of yellows and a small burgandy, for $6.00. And that's after he had orginally quoted me 2 for $10 for the big ones and 2 for $8 on the little ones.

This is on our way to finding a slushy and Jacob was having a great time...

I wish you could have seen all the stuff on this table. I at first thought it was junk, but then I got closer and I spyed some pretty nice stuff on there...

More farmers...

And at the end of this adventure, we crammed the flower pots in the truck.

Joanne Fabrics. I want 4 yards of this faux weaved leather STAT!

Saturday quick stop thru GW.

Cutte counter top lamp $1

Now, I'm on ze hunt for crown molding and Christmas decorations...

Bedroom Make over

I wish I was better at taking "before" pictures but I'm not.

I've had some great luck finding things on sale lately. Found the pillows at Target, they were on sale for $10 each. The crackled glass lamps were a garage sale find last week and the 70's clock on my night stand was a GW find for .30 cents and it works! YAY!!

The sheets are new from Target, I already had the mirror, and the frames are GW finds that I sprayed white.

I want to add more frames above the bed, but I haven't made up my mind as of yet. I don't want to over crowd...

The lamps were a great find last week. They don't require DIY, but possibly some new shades if I find the perfect drum ones and since as of now Target wants $24 each for the ones I want, I'll wait.

Here's a closer shot of the lamp. A'inght she perfect? I'm obsessed w/ clocks!! What can I do? LOL

Small precious corners

These are a few of my favorite things...

GW $20. I smile every time I dust her. BRNB 32 inch LCD GW $100 I treat her like kindly =)

Pottery Barn lamp from a garage sale $5.00

Vintage books from GW $1.00

Another "catch all" love the bugs on this tin can. GW $.30

Candle holders GW, black bamboo mirror from garage sale, Pier 1 candles, Archipelago scent (that was pricey), the star was a gift from Jenny * Thanks Boo, I love my star.

Black Croc leather vase from Debbie *I've been eye balling this one for 2 yrs, I think. So it's been recycled to handing it over to me. =)

Check out the new door knobs!! They are fabulous, the boys love them, they get disinfected once a week and sometimes twice =)

Topiary found at the GW paid a whopping .30 cents for it =)

Pictures of ze boys in the hall way.

Black metal Ikea Lamp it looks absolutely great in that corner along another PB wire candle holder from GW.

A DIY project inspired by Thirfty Decor Chick I can't stop reading her blog and following everything she does. Am I a copy cat? Gladly! she has incredible ideas... SARAH, CAN YOU HEAR ME? =)

Please, ignore the floors. I need to work on saving for new floors this winter... (list keeps growing)
This little Shark was from an estate sale for $5. Great for kids to help around the house, but this could never replace your real vacuum.

Ahhh, thans Bed Bath & Beyond. Keep sending me those great coupons. =)

These are great in bedroom. Both for $1.00 *Thanks Cheri, great find.

Here's my zen corner in my bedroom... If Jacob hadn't sneaked in my bed I would have shown you around, but we can do that another day.
Chair was from dumpster diving at Pier 1 $FREE, cushion $.30 cents, mirror Target $4.97

Picture frame from GW (I'm still working on taking the perfect picture to go there), lamp from Ikea Grono. And my tape measure that came out of my purse for a second.

Over the toilet cabinet. This hold the contact, contact solution, daily earrings, cotton swaps, cotton balls, hair clips and hair bands. Keeps my little things separate from the boys. See my PB towels... YUM!

I'm excited about neutralizing my spaces... I need a mental break from the harsh reds, yellows and greens I was using. And I have to say, these colors have created a more quiet and zen space in my room bathroom and kitchen.

August will be a very productive month!! BRING IT ON =)

It's been a while...

I'm in the process of looking for new employment so unfortunately I haven't had much time for blogging. Life get's in the way! I'm sure you're well familiar w/ this movement AGH!

"Oh dear Lord, when will ye bless me w/ a bigger house to hold all my precious finds" =)

Here a few pieces I want to work on before school starts...

This is a CL find.

This is a GW find;

She is a beauty and smells delish. No dents, no scratches and she is all mine. Don't be mad, but I will paint her flowers away. It's just not my steelo =)

Metal Mirror I must paint!

The silver metal does not go well on that space. So white she will be.

Kitchen door that needs painting, since I can't find the perfect glass door to put there;

Bdrm dresser that will go white; because once you go white you never go back. =)

Another unfinished project;

I reclaimed it from the one of the boys room. I have to remove all those spiderman stickers, sand prime and paint. I'm not certain what color to give it yet.

I still have a desk, shelf and more that needs to be painted in the garage.

My deadline is end of October or by end of 2010... LOL
