Belated Boston Show Off

Boston. Fun. Family. Adventure.

 Boys waiting for train.

On our way to ORD.

Snacks

 and more ... Snack time.

Tablet time.

Jacob gives Amtrak thumbs up.

The boys really enjoyed the comfort and style of the train. We were able to nap, charge phones, tablets, cameras and have a few rounds of hang man, UNO and of course eat crappy food. Lol

Chillin' at the airport, waiting for our flight.

These two are such pro's. They know exactly what to do.
I'm extremely proud of them! And I must say, so far I've done a great job!!!

The next day we took the Red Line.

Harvard. Here we come!

Harvard. Nuff said.

John Harvard was from England and was not the founder of Harvard. He was the first be benefactor. He died in Cambridge at the age of 30 in 1638. There are no photographs of the man.

Nelson was inspired by Harvard. Let's hope it sticks! =D

Three of my favorite boys.
They are my heart!

I love how you can see them in motion.

On the T.

Can you picture the horse and buggies?

Boston Common. Did you know they preformed public hangings in the park in the 1600's?

It was an absolutly georgeous day for walking.

This is where we started to follow the Freedom Trail.

Q: Can you name this building and it's history?
A: Massachusetts State House

Since Nelson's done this a few times in Boston, he's guiding us through.  Man, my kid has spirit and has become a great little man.

Red line, check out those curves.

That night we got sleepy doo.

The next morning we were up super early. Breakfast at Au bon pain and more exploring with Tio.

In Cambridge. Waiting for Bud aka Laurie. My dearest and longest friend. I've known her for over 20 yrs. She is has been my sister and best friends even thou we live miles away.

After almost 4 hrs of walking...

China Town

On our way back to Cambridge.

By late 2013 the boys and I will be Bostonians!

Amtrak. Home bound.

What a beauty this place was. Best city ever. Okay, I lie. NYC is! =D
Btw, I'm finally blogging from my tablet and I love it! =D

Family Trip to Myrtle Beach, SC

This is how I pack for a week. Can't leave my 1983 Care Bear behind... He's been everywhere from Paris, Belgium, Mexico, Venezuela, Ivory Coast to Ecuador and more. My daddy gave him to me when I was 8 yrs old and I've loved him since.

Boys chilling at the airport. They are the bestest traveling kids... They are prepared and calm.

Jacob reviewing and attentive to saftey instructions. By the end of the flight, he knew exactly what to do and what was expected of him... So, proud of my kiddo.

Happy to almost get to Myrtle Beach for some family relaxation and vacation.

We were so ready. We had plenty of sun block, shorts, hats, bathing suits, video games, portable tv and movies and snacks.

I'm glad we were able to get a room w/ a mini-kitchen. It's so much better then going out for snacks every second and this allowed us to be able to prep some yummy healthy snacks away from home. OH OH, the week we went was bike week so, it was nice to watch the bikes on display.

Hello Myrtle Beach!

Not bad for our first night in Myrtle Beach. It was a bit windy but it was so much better then the cold rain in Michigan. The boys automatically gravitaded towards the beach. Jacob was a bit overwhelmed being his first time, but Nelson is a pro at this... I can't wait for more trips to come 2012.

My nightly view

Our beautiful sunset from the room. I wish I could have captured how absolutley perfect it was to sit on the patio and enjoy the sounds of the waves and the reflection on the water.

Enjoying the indoor water pool.

Great times!

It got a bit windy so, the pier walk was perfect. We walked a couple of miles, stopped in a few shops, restaurants and enjoyed the view.

Again, I wish my camera would have captured how beatiful and bright out it truly was out that day...

Awww, Pooke got tired. We got in the room after our walk and Jacob passed out.  Time for some mommy and Nelson quiet chat time.

G'morning Myrtle!!!

Right outside my room on the patio w/ a cup of coffee. It wasn't quite perfect cause it was Myrtle but it was nice. Again the sound of the waves smacking against each other... Ahhhhh *calm*

The boys loved our time in Myrtle. We went swimming every single day for HOURS! by 8p the boys specially Jacob were tuckered out.

One more day of relaxation and ...

it's time to go home. What a great inexpensive family trip. I'm so excited to get out w/ the boys again and take another mini vacay. Italy here we come 2012! but first; keep checking in on our NYC and Poconos trip.

So, here is my take on Myrtle Beach, SC. It's niether a bad place to go or a nice one. It's not even in the middle. It's just a place to go when you have limited funds and you want to get away. It's a quick flight from anywhere on the East coast and super cheap (sign up for weekly specials w/ your favorite airline to get a great fare). I was able to get us there for $60 for all three of us round trip. Can't beat that!

Myrtle is not my favorite. And I will only return if I find another great deal liek the one I found in May.

Where do you vacation? Have you been to Myrtle before? What's been your experience?

Coming up next: our great NYC vacation!!
