Is it possible to have too many mirrors in one room? My living room has 3. Eh, maybe I'm just vain. =D
I can't believe that I found this mirror at a garage sale during my lunch time on yesterday for $10 while the price on it says $169. I know everyone is spring cleaning and the last thing I wanted to do was bring MORE "stuff" home, but she's so pretty and her previous owner hated her. I think she's adores.

By the beginging of next week I'll have a couple of things to show you blog-ettes that I'm working on... I'd get too it faster, but work is getting in the way =)
Does work get in your way of projects and blogging? =) Becauase it does for me... Example; this morning first thing was laundry, dishes, taking kids to school, work. In the evening; it's usually reviewing homework, puttin kids down for the night, cleaning for the day and folding the laundry while watching my stories. It doesn't sound like much so, why do I run out of time? *BTW, there's always enough time to get sick! What the dilly YO!!?? LOL
Either way I've decided to fit in tiling my back splash whenever I can fit it in. AGH! That means that it's a very slow process.
1. Tiling the back splash
2. Changing faucet (yay)
3. New blackboard
4. Re-Organizing cupboards
This list is far too short to take me longer then 1 week. HELP! LOL
So, I keep stopping by I need motivation and suggestions =)

I've had many ask about the Roomba and what I thought of it. The price, the good, the bad and ugly of the Roomba.
How I came about getting it was not w/ out its bit of drama, I got the Roomba brand new at GW for $3. Brought it home, let it sit in storage for about 6 months while the basement was being dry walled, bathroom build and the basement was getting entirely re-wired. Once the dust settled, I dug it out. Broke the seal on the box, charged it and waited. 2 days later when I went to press "clean" nada. BOOOO Total and complete disappointment.
The conundrum was; keep or throw it out. I decided to keep it and give the company a call.
After 10 mins on the line w/ Roomba's customer service, I was told that I would be getting a new unit w/ in a few days. I thought "WHAT?! REALLY?!" They even told me to keep the original one, they did want me to mail it back to them... Oh my! at that moment I hearted Roomba!
It's a bit on the loud side and it's now our routine to "set it and forget it" on our way out the door that way it's not running into us. I don't think it should be your only source of carpet cleaning because it's not quiet as strong as the "bagless" vacuum but I'm still excited that we got it. YAY!!

We've been using it for the last 3 months and we're happy w/ it. I try to empty out the tray after every use.
I will post a vid of how I get that done, so stay tuned ;)

Putting it all together, taking from other items that are in the house and some GW finds that I still have stored around here... Oh my, all this decorating and re arranging puts me in the mood for Xmas decorating... Are you? =)
I can't find the before, but it was all red dirty brick and when the basement got finished I asked for the top half to be covered w/ floating drywall to I could hang art and have a canvas background. No distractions... Then I primed the fireplace (lots of elbow grease for cleaning and even more paint after priming) then painted it.
Here she is as of last night... I could no longer wait to make a fire so I went for it. =)
Pssst! I would love to have the courage to Slipcover that tan loveseat white... The plan is before first snow fall. We'll see! =)
The leaning shelf came from the living room upstairs that I found at GW for less the $20... YAY!
I replaced the leaning shelf in the living room w/ some shelvs I of course found at GW for .30cents for all 3. Jacob was sick and stayed home from school this day.
Then I spotted this awesome desk at a garage sale this summer for $20. She took $15 and it was all mine. It was not in perfect condition, the legs were loose but I used my reliable E6000 since it wouldn't take the screws, put a nice thin coat of Black Restoleum after I lightly sanded her. Before!

Everything is GW finds. Except for the Ikea Lamp and the Target globe that was on sale last xmas for $4.00
Then there's what I'm trying to create, a bar... Man, I need to find bottle hangers for the new shelves. All 3 were $1. at GW. I didn't paint them, because I really like the little dings on it. Really.

As you can tell I'm still working on it all, but it's coming along. Hopefully by Thanksgiving it'll all be in it's place, plus the base boards.
Almost threw this out. You can't imagine how many things I've placed curbside, after a few days I start to think... "coulda, shoulda, woulda". So, w/ this one, I decided to just stand back and imagine where it would fit if paint, then the it was "black or white?" LOL.
Countless stickers, removing them was a good time *sarcasm*
I used nail polish remover and it took me a little over 3 hours to get them all off.
I applied the nail polish to the cotton balls and let them sit on the sticker while a scraped it off, by the time I got the sticker under the cotton ball it was a easy. I used plastic scraper to protect the wood.
Primed w/ left over Gripper primer and sealer.
With so little storage space this was a great solution, I'm hoping the boys will continue to use it to keep books, back pack off my table and furniture. Hmmm maybe this should be where I put my keys every night.
It appears tight but it's actually a great size for that wall.
I saved a boat load by rehabbing Nelson's bookcase and increasing storage and organize more as time goes on.
Ikea's Expedite is a great bookcase that some turn upside down and add legs to rise it. Have you checked out Ikea hacker yet?
It's that time to get all projects on the way for the beginning of school. I'm desperately trying to complete things and start the school yr. on a positive note, since the clutter of paint cans, molding, tools and such are getting in my way.

I'll be back in a few weeks and reveal my updated kitchen, but for now I'm stuck w/ a clogged kitchen sink that I must run the snake thru, then it's back to sanding and painting... What a disorderly mess.
Notice the painters tape and tarp on my freshly painted cabinets? I have a a painters tarp over them to protect them from the splashing as I was trying to plunge the sink... Again, what a MESS!
Laminate back splash removed, filled in and smoothed down. I spent all Sunday on that...
90% I'm doing it alone, but I love when my girlfriends come to my rescue, they are my salvation at times... they are so good to me. They even lend out their husband to do the heavy lifting... *Love you girls!! =)

I've been using Seventh Generation for years... I'm finally giving it's formal props. Somethings I like somethings I don't. IE; I'm not convinced by the laundry products yet, but I'm def. an avid user of the cleaners.
Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner. Although, there are several scents to choose from, I opted for the Lemongrass and Thyme. The smell gets getting used to but it works. So, now when I smell it, I know it's clean. I spray it on and let it do it's job for a few minutes, then I wipe it off. My fridge is super-duper white and clean... WhooRah!
I was using their household paper goods, but I switched over to CVS's Brand for toilet paper, paper plates and paper towels. Maybe because it's just so much closer to my house and don't need to make a special trip to the health food store or order online for it.
I always use my Extra Care card even though the coupons and discounts are not as generous as they used to be a couple of years ago, I'm still hopeful =)
Nellie's All-Natural products is new to me. But I recieved my package from Crate and Barrel a couple of months ago and it works. Way better then Quixtar powder bleach. Plus, it's a steal in comparison to Quixtar and Arm & Hammer and the tin can is Gorge! =)
I'm trying to limit our foot prints and yes, it's costly. Where I live recycling is a bit pricey for my tastes but I guess I'll have to consolidate in other areas and take it all the way.
