Update- My Transformation

Hey guys, I'm back to fill you in on the recent progress.

Today is Day 45!

It's going great

&

I'm down 23 lbs!!

That's half a pound a day.

My legs are almost SICK ;)

I strive for burning 1000 calories a day.

So, when I loose a pound. I'm grateful.

Man, it feels great to see how much my body can tolerate
and my improvement.

I want to live forever (don't you?) and I hope this works ;)

This mornings workout and
in the evening I knocked out another 500.

My face is thinning out.

Cause my fat is crying!

See the battle scars. Love.

I have 16 more lbs to go. Then the real work
begins. Tightening up and keeping it at bay.

How do you make it work for you?

Living Room - Houzz Inspirations

I'm certain I'm not the only addicted to Houzz. It has such beautiful inspirations. I better step up my game for the holidays this year. Maybe Cheri will help me get with it =D

If you've been following me for a bit, you all know I love black, white and beige. It might seem boring but I could care less. I love the way my soul feels in an open room. PEACE!

Postcard from Paris Home

Love the fireplace.

'Tis almost time to decorate the fireplace... Here's a sneek peek.

What's your designing style

Mine is Transitional. What ever the heck that means.

Here's a great read over at HGTV.

I always thought of my self as Suburban or Eclectic. But as I read on; I found that I much dislike clutter but with two growing boys, can't seem to get from under it. I dislike bold colors; they are too loud and at times obnoxious. I prefer browns, tans, sages, creams and lots of textures. Metal; shiny or dull. Different wood grains all in a room appeal to my eye if they stay cohesive. But I must, must have white somewhere or it just doesn't seem to come together for ME. Oh and I rather have a plain wall rather then an over accesorized wall with 'Stuff' all together the wall or on every wall.

I had a old friend that called my style "boring". But her house is a style disaster. Every room has a different theme. Every accessory is a different color. Seriously! Her kitchen had red accessories, black and whites diamonds floor tiles and green cupboards. Her staircase has a school bus yellow sun mural about 5x8 covering the entire wall. Listen, I never took her criticism seriously since, holy cow her house is a total "What not to do" or "WTF?".

Boring is not a word that I would use to describe Transitional. I think it's interesting, eclectic, soothing, textured and minimalistic. I would call it more "inviting".

Notice the light blue, light yellow and the wood? how relaxing and inviting is that? I picture the kids on the floor in front of the fireplace playing UNO or Monopoly. I could not live w/ out my fireplace in the basement. What will I do when I move? possibly buy an electrical unit.

What do you think when you look at these spaces?

High ceilings, crown molding, armed chairs, fireplace. Doesn't this look like heaven?

Can't wait to get a much bigger house. Boston, here I come! And maybe it's time to paint my coffee tables Heirloom White and add some pop of color. White.

New Inspired PB Headboard

I've been a busy bee. Work continues to take over my life. So much so, that I've even hired a cleaning lady. She will do the regular dusting, vaccuming, moping and thank God LAUNDRY!!! =D

Anyways; remember my Ikea headboard? It's cute but now I'm bored w/ it. So, I thought I would try this... Reveal coming tomorrow. See how I continue to get inspired by you!

I will get this posted as soon as I have a min. so that you see how beautiful it looks.

Stay tuned!

Restoration Hardware Wish List

OMW, did you get the new RH catalog? isn't it to die for? I'm in #LOURVE w/ several pieces in there so, I had to share.

They have the awesomest stuff right now... Oh why don't I have a money tree?

WOW! How sick is that TV stand?

Keep looking!

This would look killer in my living room. Might have to DIY it =D

I'm loving the Blackhawk RH line. Is it weird that I love the strength and masculinity behind this line? The leather reminds me of my dad, the metal reminds me of my Delta days, the lamps of Greta Garbo and the wood accent of farm houses I used to sneak into looking for vintage pieces.

The coffee table retails at $1395. I can't wait to see how we will all be inspired and how recreate this look.

What about these shelves, what do you think? I can't stop looking at them! I see these in my living room too...

I myself have several ideas...

Now look at the floor lamp... the Royal Master Sealight Floor Lamp. I can't believe how beautiful this is. This alone is a art piece. Retails for $1325

Love these Brazilian cowhide pillows. Retails $69-$99. Can you hear my sewing machine going? LOL

I love this Industrial Tool Chest Media Console for $1895. Again, why isn't my money tree growing?

Remember how I replace my kitchen boob light? See it HERE
Here is RH take on a boob light. It's BLACK! I can't wait to see who will recreate this one... the San Sebastian Flushmount. Retails for $79

It should be a very quick dress up party for it. I personally detest these ceiling lights. They are uneventful... okay the word I'm looking for is BORING! but eh, some paint could dress it up fun if you go silver, black, red, imagine it in yellow, fuchsia... it's endless. =D

DIY Chalkboard Clock

I was sitting at home on Saturday night under the air and fan and it was still so unbearably hot and the boys were already sleeping, but I can't ever seem to sit still... I must make something!!

you probably know that PB has had the chalkboard clocks on and off... it inspired me over a yr ago to get splash some paint on this one.

On one of my GW shopping sprees; I found this neat little 10' HobLob lock for under a $1.00. Something was wrong w/ it and it wouldn't run. Well, I got it home; added a new battery, tightened the hands and used it for bit as it is...

then it started begging to be different. I gave in to it

1. I lightly sanded the clock face

2. Painted the hands w/ WHITE spray enamel
3. Painted the clock face w/ chalkboard paint

while it dried, Tequi and I chilled;

I made myself a treat specially since I've been super good about food this week

Tequi just laid as I'm thinking "AGH! get off my couch!"

once dried I "distressed" it

re-attached the hands

and

VOILA!

yes, it really was 2:30 in the A.M. I sometimes suffer of "lack of sleep".

Easy Peasy! What do you think? will you do this?

DIY Hanging Light

I've seen these on a few blogs and I couldn't help but try it *yes, I steal great ideas* =D

I've been holding on to this Restoration Hardware lamp shade for a little over 1 yr. that I got from GW for $.30 cents (I know, I can't believe I find these awesome things) so, why not put it to good use? No reason!! So, I went for it!

I picked up a lighting cord w/ the plug in that came w/ the on and off switch. I also grabbed a light bulb socket.

I like to line everything up in sequence... It gives me a plan of attack.

1. Line everything up.

2. Feed wire thru lamp shade (with a 12' cord you have lots of slack).
3. Continue to feed wire thru extra thread and thread thru socket.

14' Restoration Hardware Empire shade in Goldenrod $44

 4. Unscrew the socket and wire the ends to the socket (not to tightly, but securely).

5. Screw everything back in place (make sure it's secure but not too tight).

6. Use the screw hooks or whatever you call them =D to the ceiling and BLAMO!!

Enjoy your new haning lamp that cost under $15.

All an all, it took about 15mins to put together and hang. I'm speedy like that =D

Don't you just love the floor space? I love that I can have extra seating there and that it has the perfect mood lighting...

Confession: What the heck do I do about the cord that hangs on the wall? my 12yr old hates the white cord against my BEHR creamy mushroom paint... does that make this project a fail?

Don't forget to follow me. I have some pretty cool projects coming up and I can't wait to share! So, be part of my crazy parade =D
